Imec is committed to hosting environmentally responsible events.

Together with our event partners and exhibitors, we take measures to decrease the environmental impact of organizing an event and implement green event best practices.

Why we’ve chosen A Room with a ZOO as our ITF World 2025 location?

• It’s one of the easiest venues to reach by train thanks to its location right next to the Antwerp Central railway Station, linking to the European rail network. We encourage ITF World participants to use public transportation or eco-friendly alternatives such as shared car rides, bike, or walk.

• A Room with a ZOO is a part of the Antwerp ZOO Society. Event profits immediately support its efforts on cherishing nature through animal welfare, education and awareness building. By attending an event at A Room with a ZOO, you directly support the Antwerp ZOO Society and the leading role it plays on the world stage in terms of scientific research and conservation.

• The building has low energy consumption, smart & eco-efficient lighting, a balanced air quality system, an isolating green roof, collection and reuse of rainwater, and more.

Together with our event partners we make our menus more environmentally friendly:

• The ITF conference buffets serve local & seasonal produce, and we prioritize vegetarian/vegan over meat and fish dishes. Conference catering complies with the ‘No food to waste’ charter.

• Our dinner menu excludes red meat, serving poultry as an eco-friendlier option.

We use paperless technology as much as possible to distribute event information:

• The free ITF app is where you’ll find speaker abstracts and bios, time schedule, demo descriptions, and more.

• Our exhibitors are encouraged to distribute promotional material in a paperless manner and/or on recycled paper where possible.

We avoid one-off use of display materials:

• Exhibitor booths use rented components and canvases made of recycled material.

• Signaling displays are made of cardboard.

• No participant bags are distributed.
