Peter Winzer

Peter Winzer is the Founder & CTO of Nubis. Prior to Nubis, he led Bell Labs’ fiber-optic transmission research, setting multiple high-speed optical transmission records and  contributing to optical communications product developments and live field trials. Peter has published over 500 scientific papers, holds over 100 granted patents, and has received numerous recognitions and awards. He is a Bell Labs Fellow, a Fellow of the IEEE, of Optica, and of the US National Academy of Inventors, and a Member of the US National Academy of Engineering. Peter received the John Tyndall Award and holds an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Eindhoven. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Lightwave Technology, as Program Chair of ECOC and as Program/General Chair of OFC. He got his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria.
