Biography
Lizzie Boakes graduated in 2020 with an MSc in Chemical Engineering Technology at KU Leuven. From 2020 and 2022, she was a valuable member of the research group, Chemistry for Energy and Materials Recovery in Waste Treatment Systems (ChEMaRTS) at KU Leuven. During her time there, she developed expertise in life-cycle analysis (LCA) and focused on quantifying material flows within the context of the circular economy. Currently, she holds the position of a life-cycle analyst in the Sustainable Semiconductor Technologies and Systems (SSTS) program at imec. In this role, she actively contributes to the development of imec.netzero, a comprehensive cradle-to-gate LCA that employs a bottom-up approach to model a virtual high-volume semiconductor manufacturing Fab. Her work extends to various material circularity projects, where she is dedicated to quantifying and characterizing material flows, intending to close material loops and promote material sustainability in the semiconductor industry.
