AI-driven orchestration of distributed energy resources

The integration of DER (Distributed Energy Resources) in the power system is a key success factor for the energy transition. We will discuss how pains of the power grid will translate in opportunities for the flexibility market. With a maturing of the flexibility value chain, especially device connectivity and wholesale flexibility trading capability, a need emerges for a crucial piece of smart middleware that 'shapes' DER into reliable and high-fidelity virtual power plants. As an example we will present the Beebop orchestration platform which aims to be the middleware of every energy system of the future.
