Nele Gerrits - Senior Researcher, imec

Nele Gerrits is a senior researcher and expert AI and health at imec. She holds a degree in Bioscience Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and an advanced master in Artificial Intelligence. Before coming to imec she worked as a researcher at VITO gaining expertise in applying deep learning on medical images. She was involved in setting up spinoff company MONA.health that commercializes deep learning models that detect eye diseases. Nowadays she is involved in setting up collaborations within the drug design and discovery domain, where her starting point is how AI and other imec expertise can support the needed transformations in the field.
