Frederik De Smet - Bioengineer & Associate Research Professor, KU Leuven

Prof. Frederik De Smet is a Bioengineer and Associate Research Professor at the KULeuven within the department of Imaging and Pathology. He founded the laboratory for Precision Cancer Medicine (www.lpcm.be) in addition to the facility of multiplexed immunohistochemistry within the Translational Cell and Tissue Research unit, which he co-directs with his colleague and pathologist Prof. Francesca Bosisio (https://lisco.kuleuven.be/MILAN/). His field of research is the study of adult and pediatric brain tumors using a combination of clinical, pathological and experimental research approaches including (spatially resolved) single-cell technologies and advanced data mining to uncover and design novel therapeutic approaches..
