Kris Boonen - Business Development Manager Unit Water & Energy Transition, EnergyVille / VITO

Kris Boonen has been working for Vito and EnergyVille as Business Development Manager. She builds bridges for research to the industry to make sustainable energy research for the built environment accessible and understandable for start-ups & SME’s, for MNO’s in Flanders, Belgium, Europe and outside of Europe. Through scientific validation, development of new business models, patents & license agreements, she valorizes the extensive research experience within Vito/EnergyVille in the field of sustainable building, focusing on assessment methods for energy performance of (near) zero energy buildings and extensive retrofitting of buildings and districts. In addition she focusses on sustainability & circularity in building materials, buildings & districts and finally also on long term energy modelling from a systemic perspective. VITO/EnergyVille has extensive research capabilities, research infrastructure and Living Labs on sustainable buildings, communities and cities for national and international clients.
