Jan-Willem Rombouts - CEO & co-Founder, Beebop

Jan-Willem is an entrepreneur focused on demand side management in the power and carbon markets. After a career at Goldman Sachs, Jan-Willem co-founded REstore in 2010, which became a global pioneer in Virtual Power Plant technology (named world's #1 VPP technology by Navigant Guidehouse in 2022). With gigawatts of flexible power under management from Japan to North America, REstore was acquired by Centrica in the Cleantech Deal of the Year Europe of 2018. After serving as global Director of Product Management at Centrica Business Solutions, Jan-Willem founded Scone.ai in 2021, a climate activation platform which offers demand side management on individually-driven emissions to cities and companies. Scone is currently used by the City of London and other city climate leaders as well as global insurance, media and telecom companies to reduce their citizens' and customers' emissions. In 2023 Jan-Willem founded Beebop.ai, an AI-driven residential flexibility orchestration platform. Beebop provides software to energy companies to enable them to easily monetize flexibility of their end-consumers, by shaping large sets of consumer devices into high-fidelity virtual power plants.
