Biography
Kathy Vandenmeersschaut - Administrator-General, Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer
After studying Civil Engineering at the University of Ghent, Kathy Vandenmeersschaut started as an academic assistant. Soon she began working for the Flemish government, at the Department of Environment and Infrastructure, first in the position of study engineer and later in the managerial position of department head. She was head of the General Technical Support Division of the Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works where she was responsible for the department's IT activities and for consultancy on public procurement. For several years, Kathy also took on the coordination of the department's internal study bureau.
In 2019, she became an Advisor on Public Works at the cabinet of the Flemish minister for Mobility & Public Works Lydia Peeters. Just under a year later, Kathy became deputy chief of the cabinet, a position she held until August 2022 when she was appointed as administrator-general of the Flemish Agency for Roads and Traffic (‘Vlaams Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer’)
