Pieter Vandervoort

Pieter Vandervoort - Cardiologist, Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg

Pieter Vandervoort is a cardiologist and medical coordinator of Future Health at Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg in Genk, Belgium, and co-founder of the Mobile Health Unit, a research group at Hasselt University. Experiences from clinical practice are the inspiration for the use of digital technologies such as internet, smartphone, telemonitoring and recently artificial intelligence for diagnostics and patient follow-up both inside and outside the hospital. He heads a multidisciplinary research team that also works closely with other research institutions and companies with an interest in the field of mobile health applications. He strongly believes in creating the bridge between the digital and medical revolution to fundamentally improve patient care in the future.
