Luc Van Ginneken, Program Manager, Catalisti
Luc Van Ginneken is a (bio)chemical engineer, who obtained a PhD in biology at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). After working for several years in a research environment at the University of Antwerp, he joined VITO’s Reactor Technology project group (Process Technology Centre of Expertise) (Belgium) in 1999 to work in the field of chemical reactor technology. In the period 2004-2011, he worked as a project manager in the Environmental and Process Technology Centre of Expertise at VITO (which was renamed to Business Unit Separation and Conversion Technology in 2009), where his main activities involved doing research in the field of sustainable chemistry.
As of March 2012, he is seconded from VITO to FISCH/Catalisti, the Flemish Spearhead Cluster for Chemistry & Plastics, which is a strategic initiative of the Flemish Government and the chemical sector to make it’s industry in Flanders more innovative and sustainable. As a Program Manager at Catalisti, he sets up innovation projects (involving both the chemical industry and research centers) in the field of process intensification and transformation.
