David Steen

David Steen – Senior Knowledge Field Manager Advanced Product Development, EMEA Development Center, Daikin Europe N.V.

David Steen has a MSc in applied science of electro-mechanical energy engineering (UGent). Since 2007 he works in product development for heat pump applications in Daikin Europe N.V. - EDC. The experience varies from residential applications to larger commercial applications for air to air, air to water, water to air and water to water heat pumps.

Currently David is mainly focussing on creating the roadmap within Advanced Development for the next generation heat pumps and ventilation units. The main focus lies in establishing the usage of lower GWP refrigerants and covering the safety needs for various application as well the thermodynamic optimalisation and finding new ways to integrate them in buildings in the most efficient way to strive towards carbon neutrality, not only on product level but also on building (system) level.

He is looking forward to the times ahead. They are ever so challenging and full of opportunities. Especially the electrification of Europe is a challenge where everyone will be involved in. Even the most basic consumers will be involved on many levels, even though they might not know it yet.
